GASCO

The brooding melancholy of the old Gasco headquarters
seems a memento mori for an industrial age.

Highway 30 near the foot of the St. Johns Bridge.

  1. I love this old hulk. It's interesting to see an architectural rendering of it complete with broken glass, boarded up windows and mossy roof.

  2. I think this building resonates with a lot of people. I painted this in the manner of 19th century architects who documented the ruins in Rome and Athens, and following their example, I'd like to paint a version in a "restored" condition.
